Originally built as a meat smokehouse, this small building was converted into a shrine dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the 1950s by a group of Jesuits in the later stages of their formation. It is now used as a place of prayer and contemplation by the Jesuits and retreatants.
You may notice the image of a snake that Mary is stepping on, symbolizing victory over evil.
To go to Site 13: Madonna of the Vines, walk through the small iron gate, and follow the path towards the road. The monument will appear on your left.
